Robert Thomas (Tom) Topping
Robert Thomas (Tom) Topping is a criminal defense attorney. Tom graduated with honors in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis. Tom later attended St. Louis University School of Law where he interned with the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. There he gained experience in preparation for trial and drafting gun-related legislation.
Thereafter, Tom worked full time in the criminal courts of the City of St. Louis where he assisted the Court in some of the most widely publicized cases. Tom was admitted to the Theodore McMillian Inn of Court, a prestigious professional organization of trial attorneys.
Tom earned his wings as a trial attorney at one of the most well-known criminal law firms in the St. Louis area where among other things he assisted in securing not-guilty verdicts in two of the highest profile murder cases in recent St. Louis metropolitan history. He has trial experience in a multitude of other criminal defense cases ranging from misdemeanors to major felonies.
In January of 2024 Tom joined the Krupp Law Firm as a full-time criminal law associate. He resides in St. Louis County with his wife and children. Tom is a founding member of the Gathering of Young Defense Attorneys (GOYDAs) judges mock trial, and is an avid Rumpole of The Bailey Fan.
